A ClueGo route works well for a bachelorette weekend once the group size and the walking distance are sorted out in advance. Here's what to check before booking, using the Milan trail as the example.
How the game works
The Milan route runs through a web app that opens directly in a phone browser. No app to download, no reservation.
After buying a game code online, the group gets an access link by email and can start whenever it suits them, with no ClueGo staff present at the start or the finish.
The trail covers 4 km through the historic centre, starting at the Duomo and finishing at Piazza dei Mercanti, with stops along the way including Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, Teatro alla Scala, the Pinacoteca di Brera and Castello Sforzesco. Completed without stopping, it takes 3 to 4 hours. With photo breaks, an aperitivo stop or a slower pace, it runs longer.
Group size and cost
In Milan, a code costs €19.99 and covers up to five players. A bachelorette party of twelve, for example, would need three codes, split into three teams of four. Groups above 15 people don't buy standard codes online: ClueGo asks them to get in touch directly for a different rate.
Splitting into teams
Each game code covers one to five people. For a bachelorette group larger than that, the standard approach is one code per team of up to five, with one person per team appointed captain to hold the phone and run the app.
Teams start a few minutes apart, usually 5 to 10. This keeps two groups from solving the same puzzle at the same stop at the same time. At the end, ClueGo ranks the teams by completion time and by how many hints each one used along the way, so the afternoon ends with a scoreboard.
Age and mobility
ClueGo recommends a minimum age of 7, with an adult present for younger players. This mostly matters if the bachelorette party includes family members rather than just friends. The route itself is not built for wheelchairs or strollers, since it's an outdoor walking trail with no accessibility adjustments. Anyone in the group with mobility limitations should contact ClueGo directly before buying a code.
What to bring
A smartphone with a data connection is the only requirement. The app runs directly in the browser: nothing to install beforehand. ClueGo also recommends comfortable shoes, given the 4 km distance, and playing during daylight hours, since some puzzle details are hard to spot once it gets dark.
When ClueGo isn't the right choice
If anyone in the group has mobility limitations that make a few hours of walking difficult, the Milan trail isn't a good fit as it stands. It's worth contacting ClueGo before buying to check what's possible. The same applies if the day is built around a fixed dinner reservation: 3 to 4 hours is the baseline, and a group that pauses often for drinks or photos should plan for longer. If solving riddles isn't something the group actually enjoys, a different activity will likely work better, since the puzzles are central to the whole route.
Booking and flexibility
Once purchased, a game code can be activated any time within 6 months. After activation, the trail needs to be completed within 10 days, though play can be paused and picked up again, even the next day. Bad weather doesn't cancel anything: the game pauses the same way, and the group can finish on a clearer day.
